Today I remember that the directions are not something that I do, they are something that I think. All of our thoughts, including thoughts we have about our bodies, appear in our bodies in the form of tension and in how we hold ourselves and how we move. We also gradually incorporate thoughts about directions, and in time they become part of how I am, how I move, how I react – they become part of my way of thinking. Alexander said, “You translate everything, whether physical, mental or spiritual, into muscular tension.”
